Holdenhurst footbridge is currently being painted and repaired. Part of this work involves applying a new waterproofing / anti slip surface on the deck. This process will require a complete closure of the bridge to pedestrians due to the nature of the materials being applied.
The closure will commence at 9.00am on Thursday, 23rd May 2013 and the will reopen on Saturday, 25th May 2013 at 9.00am.
The work is weather dependant so hopefully these dates and times will remain fixed. Signs have been placed on the bridge and on the approach footpaths if you use the crossing regularly. Unfortunately there is no straight forward diversion route for this structure because the only safe way across the A338 is not practical on foot i.e. via Cooper Dean flyover or Blackwater Junction, hence a diversion route has not been provided.
