SAIL Bus in Townsend

The SAIL (Safe and Independent Living) bus will be arriving in Townsend on Monday 18 February, 10.00am - 12.00 midday. The bus will be parked in the car park in front of the One Stop Shop.

ALL residents are being encouraged to go along and receive free support, services and information. For example, residents can have a home energy check, receive grant advice for insulation or have a benefits check to ensure they are receiving everything they are entitled to, debt advice, support to live a healthier lifestyle, a home safety check (including fitting a free smoke detector).

Helen Ryder will be leading a 'All Body Workout' session each week at Townsend Community Centre. First class starts on Wednesday 6 March at 10.00am. As an introductory offer all classes in March will be free to attend, normally £1.00 per class.

Townsend Litter Pick with MP Tobias Ellwood.

A reminder that we have a Community Litter Pick taking place on Friday 22 February, meeting outside Townsend Community Centre (Jewell Road) at 11.00am. Why not volunteer a couple of hours to clean up Townsend. All litter picking equipment will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing.

Improving the Seafront, Your Views Needed...

If you're a local residents and would like to give your thoughts on what can be done to improve the Seafront public spaces then please get in contact. The outcome of the consultation will help form the Seafront Strategy which is a plan for improvement over the next 20 years and has high priority backing from the Council. The seafront is one of the most important public spaces in the borough as well as being central to our tourism economy.

Andrew Emery, Service Development Manager, Seafront Operations will run the consultation taking place on Thursday 7 March, 11.00am - 12.30pm @ Townsend Community Centre. To take part in the consultation (limited places) please call Caroline on 01202 451165.

New School for Townsend - Jewell Academy

Representatives from Jewell Academy will be holding a presentation evening at Townsend Children's Centre on Thursday 14 March at 6.00pm. Everyone welcome to attend.

Bournemouth Food Bank

Please can I ask for donations of in-date, non-perishable food items to support the Bournemouth Food Bank. Please leave donations at Townsend Community Centre. Any donation would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The next 3Ts, Townsend Together Team meeting is taking place on Thursday 21 February, 2.00-3.00pm at Townsend Community Centre, Jewell Road.

Townsend Christmas Fayre

We have the Townsend Christmas Fayre taking place on Saturday, 15th December, 10.30am - 1.00pm at Townsend Community Centre (next to the One Stop Shop), Jewell Road, Townsend.

"There will be a wide variety of stalls for all those last minute Christmas pressies. Come and keep the children entertained; there will be a Christmas craft workshop and a Christmas biscuit/cake decorating. Enjoy some festive refreshments and don't forget there will be a visit from Father Christmas, the BIG raffle, tombola and lots more..."

There are still a few tables available at the Townsend Christmas Fayre; perhaps you own your own business and would like to come along and sell on the day, £5.00 per table, please get in contact to reserve a space.
